Brian Holland
Biography
Brian Holland is a recognized expert in the design, implementation, management and planning of urban and workforce development policies and initiatives that expand educational and economic opportunities for marginalized populations and which build healthy communities. He is currently Training and Technical Assistance Manager at BLH Technologies, where he identifies trends and facilitates strategic approaches for TANF and WIOA coordination and integrated service delivery for underserved populations. Other previous positions held include Deputy Director, Workforce Development, DC Department of Employment Services; Executive Director, National Workforce Development Agency in the Cayman Islands; Senior Manager, JBS International and Deloitte & Touche; Regional Director, Strategic Partnerships LLC; Assistant Vice President for National Community Reinvestment Act compliance at Citigroup; and Interim Director of the NYC Federal Empowerment Zone Office. Additionally, Brian serves on the Beckner Advancement Fund Committee, a social justice philanthropic initiative of All Souls Unitarian Church in Washington, DC. Throughout his career, Brian brings a racial and social equity lens to design progressive policies that empower inclusive economies, drawing on community organizing principles.
Brian’s passion for economic and social justice began early in his life when he attended multiracial public schools in the Bronx, New York, and were encouraged by mentors during his postsecondary education at New York University (Bachelor of Arts, politics) and Columbia University (Master of Public Administration) and Master of Science in Urban Planning).
