OUR TEAM

Tj is a Richmond, VA native who grew up playing sports and working at summer camps. Growing up he always wanted to make things better than he found them and viewed himself as a small inventor. Tj has had an affinity for gadgets since he was young. As Tj grew up, what he wanted to change also grew up. From this, came his passion for education. He first joined The Literacy Lab as a Leading Men Fellow and held two staff positions on the Virginia program team supporting several cohorts of Fellows. Tj takes great pride in the work he’s done to create opportunities for children to get proper education in their communities from people who look like them. This is important to him as it is something he wishes he had growing up. And now, as a Board Member, Tj hopes to tell others about the organization’s transformative work and the everlasting impact The Literacy Lab has on communities and education systems. To Tj, the power of The Leading Men fellowship is that we create access for students and for the Fellows themselves.
